Hi Thomas. There is no Reddcoin mining. Reddcoin is based on proof-of-stake, it means that you just need to have Reddcoins (RDD) on your wallet and your coins are staked and will generate new RDDs.

Yes this is the difference between mining (Proof-of-Work) and staking (Proof-of-Stake). To get reward in mining you need to perform expensive computer calculations to create a new groups of blocks in the blockchain by verifying the legitimacy of a transactions. Staking is absolutely different way to do the same (verify transactions). In proof-of-stake creator of new block will be chosen based on amount of coins that he has. And reward will be transaction fee. Because of this difference proof-of-stake needs much less electricity and considered as much more efficient consensus type.
