Hi. I bought some cardano and store them in Deadalus wallet. Want to be sure that my Cardanos are safe, and want to make a backup of Daedalus wallet, but can't find this feature. Can anybode explain step by step how I can do that?
Hi. Good question. You need to keep in the safe place you seed phrase. This is a most important information as this seed will allow you to get access to your wallet (even if you will install it on the new computer). So basically you don't need anything except keeping your seed safe.
But, there is way to make backup of wallets created inside Daedalus application. To make a backup of Daedalus wallet on Windows OS you need to do the following:
1) Shut down Daedalus wallet
2) Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Daedalus folder
3) Copy two folders Secret-1.0 and Wallet-1.0 to a safe place
When you will make clean install of Daedalus application, just copy these two folders in the same destination, and replace existing files. Make sure, that you know password (not just a seed) if you created it for a wallet.
Hi Nick. Yes, you can create a Daedalus wallet backup on Mac using the same principle. The only difference is in the path to daedalus files: /Users/–username–/Library/Application Support/Daedalus/
Please let me know if you can find files there.
