Ledger HW.1 is a cost-effective solution for those who seek a hardware wallet and can't afford considerable amount of money for it. Its main advantage is price, but this advantage is not the only one. It support multiple platforms and that makes it an universal tool for all Bitcoin holders.

Security features are addressed at a good level and here its simplicity helps more than hurts. Being just a smartcard, it doesn't have programing interfaces which may be hacked. Of course, there is always such risk when you deal with crypto products, but this wallet will require hackers to develop specific applications for interacting with its chip.

Its dimensions can create problems for some users, who may simply lose it somewhere. It is also a fragile product and if the smartcard is physically damaged, you will not be able to access your funds from it.
