Gdax and Coinbase verification not working
Related Exchange:

Hey guys,

I have been trying to verify my account on coinbase and gdax so i am able to move funds. I have been able to verify my drivers license on coinbase but when I try to answer the questions that both coinbase and gdax ask it is saying that I failed verification. I am putting in the information on my license, but I have recently moved for a internship. I am wondering what is the issue. Should I be putting the current address I will only be staying at for 6 months? I am just trying to get in the world of crypto and especially alt coins.

Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue, the help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi mrj0002. If you have documents (drivers license) issues in one country, but currently you live in another country and you've specified your current location country in the account — I think it will be impossible for you to get verified. This is very popular problem, and unfortunately their support team doesnt' work good enough to resolve these issues. If you can give me more information:
  1. In which country your documents were issues?

  2. Where are you currenlty live?

I will try to help you.

I think Cyber is right about the reason. I also have the similar issue with verification (read my comment here: cryptoncy.net/qa/51-coinbase-identity-verification-not-working.html#comment_131 )
I have bulgarian documents but currenlty I live in Croatia (I don't have any croatian documents). The main problem that I have only local croatian phone number and I am unable to setup a new account and specify Bulgaria there. It is too complicated.

Yes, my documents are in the US. I was living in Alabama but I have moved to Augusta, Georgia and will only be here for 6 months. So i am not switching countries at all. I also will not be switching my license because I will be moving back to Alabama to finish up school.

I tried a month ago while I was still living in Alabama and was having the same problem. I was reading online that there having a lot of traffic come through. But I literally just got my drivers license verified on coinbase about 15 minutes ago.

The picture I attached is the 1st set of information. Then when I hit continue they ask the questions «what street is closest to this address where you lived». I am answering those correctly. I just don't know what to do. Is there a way I could contact coinbase or gdax via customer service?

Interesting. So this problem with different countries is not your case. You can try to contact their support team:
1) Go here — support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/emails/new
2) Scroll page down and click «Contact our team»

3) Click on the grey link «I have one of the above priority issues and have searched the Support Center for a solution.»

Maybe you are lucky and you will get reply from them:)

PS. Did you check the spelling of street name or specify other big streets nearby?

Their complicated verification system is the reason why I decided to use other exchanges

I will try and get a hold of them hopefully Ill get lucky. Thank you for that information. I have tried numerous times and I am spelling the address right. When it hasn't been working I have tried putting my drivers license address (my parents house). As well as the address at the house I actually live at in alabama.

Its just confusing and I don't get why my drivers license address wouldn't work. Thank you for all the help and if you can think of anything else let me know. IF I find the solution I'll post it here. It's just frustrating because I have been wanting to get in alt coins for a month and its just not working no matter what I try

Thanks, pleease keep us up to date about your verification process, as a lot of people have the same or similar issues, and it would be great if we will find any correlations here.

PS. If you will not succeed with Coinbase verification you still have alternative options to buy altcoins.

What would be my alternative options? What I have read and talking with friends that are into it. They all use coinbase then transfer to gdax then to either bittrex or binance to get to alt coins

The easiest way is to use Localbitcoins website. This is absolutely safe website and it also provides escrow services for transactions. Here you can select different ways how you want to buy bitcoins:
1) Cash (in-person)
2) Paypal
3) Western Union
4) Monegram
5) And many other online payment methods.

Just choose the preferred option, specify your location (if you want to buy bitcoins with cash) and that is it.
You can sort traders by rating. This is absolutely safe and easy way to get bitcoins. Some traders also work with altcoins, but you need to ask them about it.
